A quiet Sunday

reminds me of ice age  This was snapped by Sriram aka Rama at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck, NY, which is a few miles SW of White Plains. He was visiting me over the weekend. I had always wanted to go here, today being Sunday and with nothing much else to do, we decided to check it out. It's got a small harbor and a park for kids to play around in. It was calm and sunny, though cold, a perfect day to snap a few pictures. Got more on Flickr.
I have been exploring more of White Plains lately. It's a nice clean city, and what adds to its charm are the family run shops that line Mamaroneck Ave. and some on Main St. Main St. has undergone a radical transformation over the past few years, (As I have learnt reading older news articles) with big name stores setting up shop. But what sets any place apart are it's family run stores, because that's more local. Let's hope they continue to remain open, because it's not going to be easy. And if you are looking for a diner style experience, check out City Restaurant (open 24 hours) on Mamaroneck Ave (at the junction with S. Broadway) and Corner Book Cafe on Main St (located right after the city center).  Posted by Picasa
